Julie and Scott Broussard of Estherwood are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Emily Ann Broussard, to Michael Emile Stutes, both of Estherwood.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Shirley and Anthony Collura of Hammond, and of the late Sylvia and Ernie Broussard of Estherwood.
Emily graduated from Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish in 2010 before attending the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration with a concentration in accounting in 2014. She is presently employed with Wright, Moore, DeHart, Dupuis & Hutchinson, LLC, Certified Public Accountants.
The prospective groom is the son of Roberta and Michael Stutes of Maxie. His maternal grandparents are the late Vivian and Robert LaBorde of Crowley, and his paternal grandparents are Mona Stutes and the late Donald Stutes of Branch.
He is a 2008 graduate of Iota High School and a 2012 graduate of McNeese State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in general studies. He is currently employed by Acadia Crawfish Co., LLC.
The couple will exchange vows on Friday, June 17, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Crowley.

Nuptial Mass at St. John Berchmans Catholic Church unites couple

Chelsea Elizabeth Harst and Todd Patrick Guidry, both of Lafayette, were united in holy matrimony on the evening of Friday, April 15, at St. John Berchmans Catholic Church in Cankton.
Msgr. Russell Harrington celebrated the 6:30 p.m. Nuptial Mass.
The bride is the daughter of Lesley and Raymond Harst of Lafayette. She is the granddaughter of Josephine Phillips and the late Lloyd Phillips, and of Shirley Harst and the late Walter Harst, all of Kinder.
Chelsea is a graduate of St. Thomas More Catholic High School and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, and she is presently employed with the Lafayette Parish School System.
The groom is the son of Cathy and Dennis Guidry of Estherwood. His grandparents are Ethel and Austin “Tony” Brown of Iota and Audrey Guidry and the late Laryman Guidry Sr. of Estherwood.
Todd is a graduate of Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, and he is currently employed by TransCanada Pipeline Co.
Guests were ushered to their seats by Garrett Puckett, cousin of the bride; Craig Guidry, cousin of the groom; and Chris Faulk, friend of the groom.
Musical selections for the ceremony were performed by Richard Guidry, Mike McGee and Tina Reaux.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride was gorgeous in a dramatic illusion lace back dress featuring a pearl button enclosure and three quarter lace sleeves. The hand-embellished sheath gown was adorned with glimmering lace appliqués and embroidered with Swarovski crystals drifting from the bride’s shoulder to a floor-skimming hem. A delicate scalloped hemline completed the gown’s cathedral length train. To complement her gown, the bride carried a mixed bouquet of fresh spring blooms.
In keeping with tradition, the bride wore a necklace that had belonged to the groom’s great-grandmother as “something old,” while her dress served as “something new.” Her mother’s pearl, sapphire and diamond ring was “something blue.”
Ashley Puckett, cousin of the bride, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Katy Guidry and Emily Lanphier, friends of the couple; Christina Guidry, sister-in-law of the groom; Meagan LeBeouf, cousin of the groom; Ashley Duhon, Amber Kokas and Alyssa Grueber, cousins of the bride; and Meagan Harst, sister-in-law of the bride. Audrianne Mouton, godchild of the groom, and Emma Puckett, cousin of the bride, served as junior bridesmaids. Parker Leblanc served as flower girl.
The groom selected his brother, Kyle Guidry, to serve as best man. Standing as groomsmen were Henry Walton and Ethan Hebert, friends of the couple; Clay Harst and Chance Harst, brothers of the bride; Dustin Bouillion and Andre Boudreaux, friends of the groom; and Jordan Puissegur and Bennett Guidry, cousins of the groom. Micha Lemoine, godchild of the bride, served as junior groomsman. Ringbearers were Karter Guidry and Easton Poff, godchildren of the groom, and Thomas Harst, nephew of the bride.
Selected scriptures were read by Amanda Lafleur, Noelle Thomas and Taylor Bull.
Offertory gifts were presented by Julia and Wendell Bertrand, Denise Gravot and James Brown.
Following the wedding, family and friends joined the newlywed couple for a reception at The Crossing at Mervine Kahn in Rayne.
The bride’s berry chantilly cake was served by her godmother, Julia Bertrand. In lieu of a traditional groom’s cake, bread pudding made by the groom’s maternal grandmother was served by the groom’s godmother, Denise Gravot.
Out-of-town guests in attendance traveled from Colorado, Mississippi, Tennessee, Texas and various points throughout Louisiana.
On the evening prior to the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at The Crossing at Mervine Kahn.
Following a wedding trip to Riviera Maya, Mexico, the couple is residing in Lafayette.

Aimee Nicole Guidroz and Brodie John Savoie became husband and wife during a Nuptial Mass celebrating the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony on Friday, April 8, 2016 at seven o’clock in the evening at St. Landry Catholic Church in Opelousas.
Reverend Garrett Savoie, brother of the groom, officiated the ceremony, assisted by Reverend James Brady, Reverend Michael Arnaud, and Reverend Andre Metrejean.
The bride is the daughter of Steve and JoAnne Guidroz of Opelousas. She is the granddaughter of Priscilla Guidroz of Opelousas, the late John Guidroz, and the late Halton and Lois Mizzi.
The groom is the son of Brian and Melissa Savoie of Mire. He is the grandson of Rogers and Betty Doucet of Church Point, Nola Savoie of Mire and the late Frank Savoie.
Given in marriage by her father, Aimee wore an elegant white a-line satin gown with a delicate lace overlay. The gown featured a hand-beaded empire waist, illusion lace back and a chapel length train. Her headpiece was a fingertip veil of white tulle trimmed with pearl beading. She carried a bouquet of white akito roses, white alstroemerias, and vanilla cream petite roses wrapped in white lace ribbon with a French knot and pearl accents. The bride’s bouquet was entwined with the rosary of her late maternal grandmother, Lois Mizzi.
Sarah Mire, sister of the bride, served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Cameron Carriere, Natalie Stout, Celeste Stout, Dana Carlin, Emily Smith and Casey Roberts, friends of the bride.
Andrew Mire, friend of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Matthew Bellard, Dustin Roberts, Blake Domec, Rocky Menard, Josh Prevost, friends of the groom, and Wesley Guidroz, brother of the bride. The groom’s godchild, Gavin Benoit, was the ring bearer.
Ushers were Derek Mire, brother-in-law of the bride, and John (Pye) Savoie, cousin of the groom.
Tricia Guidroz, aunt of the bride, and Pam Benoit, aunt of the groom, presented the scriptural readings.
Offertory gifts were presented by Donna Thibodeaux, godmother of the bride, and Jay and Melanie Richard, godparents of the groom.
Following the wedding ceremony, a reception was held at the Wolff Hall in Washington.
On the evening preceding the wedding ceremony, a rehearsal dinner was held at Café Josephine in Sunset.
Upon returning from a honeymoon to St. Lucia, Carribean Islands, the couple will reside in Lafayette.

Mr. and Mrs. Jarrod J. Gardiner of Mire are announcing the engagement and upcoming wedding of their daughter, Malise Elizabeth Gardiner, to Andrew Jacob Gary, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Gary of Iowa.
The couple will be married on Friday, June 10, 2016, during a seven o’clock evening ceremony at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Crowley, followed by a reception planned at The Crossing at Mervine Kahn in Rayne.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil J. Cart of Crowley and Ms. Norma Gardiner of Rayne.
Malise is a 2011 graduate of Teurlings Catholic High School in Lafayette, a 2015 graduate of McNeese State University in Lake Charles with a degree in public relations, and is self employed as a photographer.
The prospective groom is the grandson of Ms. Jackie Abraham of Sulphur, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gary of Lake Charles.
Andrew is a 2011 graduate of St. Louis High School in Lake Charles, 2015 graduate of McNeese State University in Lake Charles with a degree in civil engineering, and is employed by M&C Oilfield Services, LLC.
Following their wedding, the couple will reside in Lake Charles.

Robert and Karon Cook of Rayne are announcing the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Mayme Elizabeth, to Mark Stuart Brown, Jr., son of Mark and Andree Brown of Crowley.
A seven o’clock evening ceremony on Saturday, June 18, 2016, at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church will unite the couple in marriage. A reception will follow at The Warehouse Event Center in Rayne.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Rosemary Curtis of Rayne, the late Dr. C.T. Curtis, and the late Lewis and Josie Cook.
Mayme is a 2011 graduate of Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish in Crowley. She received a degree in nutrition this month from Louisiana State University.
The prospective groom is the grandson of Louis Mayeaux of Crowley, the late Charlotte Mayeaux, Terry Brown of Eunice and the late Francis Brown.
Mark is a 2006 graduate of Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish in Crowley, attained a degree in general studies in 2011 from The University of Louisiana at Lafayette, and is self-employed as a farmer with MB Crawfish.
Following the wedding, the couple plans to reside in Crowley.

Couple exchanges vows at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church

Katelyn Richey and Josh Spell, both of Crowley, were joyously united in holy matrimony on the evening of Friday, May 20.
Fr. Matthew Higginbotham officiated the 6:30 p.m. nuptials at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Crowley.
The bride is the daughter of Karla and Curt Richey of Crowley. Her grandparents are Judy and Donnie Perry of Crowley and the late Joanne and C.L. Richey.
She graduated from Crowley High School in 2014 before enrolling at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where she is majoring in early childhood education. She is presently employed with the Lafayette law firm of Durio, McGoffin, Stagg and Ackermann.
The groom is the son of Bonnie Spell of Rayne and Randy Spell of Crowley. He is the grandson of Rodney Comeaux of Rayne and the late Olivia “Sis” Comeaux, and Lucille Spell of Crowley and the late Clorist “Chip” Spell.
He is a 2011 graduate of Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish and is currently a student at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette majoring in petroleum engineering. He is employed with Trahan’s Grocery in Rayne.
The bride was gorgeous in a romantic lace sheath dress of ivory royal satin with a lace overlay. The beautiful gown featured a sweetheart neckline and delicate cap sleeves, and was finished in the back with a row of cloth-covered buttons. The skirt was trimmed with a scalloped lace hemline and flowed into chic sweep train.
Katelyn paired her dress with a sheer white shoulder length veil with Alençon lace trim made from her mother’s wedding gown.
She carried a lovely spring floral mix bouquet.
To serve as her maid of honor, the bride selected her sister, Jackie Richey. Bridesmaids were Brittany Morgan and Marianne Bischoff, friends of the bride, and Danielle Hebert, cousin of the bride.
They were clad in floor length light pink chiffon dresses featuring A-line silhouettes and V-necklines with fine lace centers.
London Trahan, daughter of Jessica and Damon Trahan, served as flower girl.
Mark Spell, brother of the groom, served as best man. Standing as groomsmen were Cody Hayes, Adam Reggie and Peyton Roteff, all friends of the groom.
Keagen Dionne, son of Stacie Breaux and Robert Dionne, was ring bearer.
Keith Guillotte, godfather of the groom, and Orry Hebert, cousin of the bride, served as ushers.
Music for the ceremony was provided by vocalist Tina Reaux, vocalist and pianist Alyssa McMurray and violinst Tommy Benoit.
Following the wedding, family and friends joined the newlywed couple for a reception held at the International Rice Festival Building in Crowley.
The bride’s cake was a three-tiered ivory confection adorned with magnolias.
The groom’s cake was decorated with a Boston Red Sox theme and displayed on a similarly decorated table.
Prior to the wedding, a rehearsal dinner was held at Chef Roy’s restaurant in Rayne.
Following a wedding trip to Panama City, Florida, the couple will reside in Crowley.

Nuptials unite Paige Boullion, Bryant Gossen

RAYNE - Saint Joseph Roman Catholic Church was the setting on Saturday, May 28, 2016, for a Nuptial Mass uniting in marriage Paige Elizabeth Boullion of Rayne and Bryant Matthew Gossen of Branch.
The bride is the daughter of David and Bonnie Boullion of Rayne. Her grandparents are Larry and Heather Garrett of Rayne, and Margaret Boullion, also of Rayne.
The groom is the son of Dwayne and Carla Gossen of Rayne. His grandparents are Curtis and Cheryl Clayton of Iota, and Herbert and Elaine Gossen of Rayne.
Celebrating the afternoon ceremony was Fr. Kevin Bordelon, pastor. Extraordinary Ministers of Communion were Randy Judice and Darlene Smith.
Readers were Karie Mire, godmother of the bride, and Chris Folks, godmother of the groom. Gifts were presented by aunts of the bride, Lorie Judice and Sherie Sommer, and aunts of the groom, Saundra Cook and Claire Didier.
Providing musical background for the ceremony were vocalists/guitarist: Kristin and Mark Dunbar, along with violinist Sarah Clement.
The bride, driven by her parents to the church in a 1941 vintage Cadillac, was escorted down the aisle on the arm of her father, David Boullion.
Paige wore an exquisite ivory gown in all-over lace with a sleek silhouette design. The gown displayed a high neckline with sheer lace and enchanting scalloped edging that remained throughout the back. The sophisticated gown was complimented with delicate bridal buttons down the bodice, and an elegant chapel length train.
The bride’s veil, something borrowed, was previously worn by her sister for her wedding. The veil was a traditional pencil-edge veil of sheer illusion
Her bouquet was something old and something blue for her wedding. The bouquet, wrapped in Venician lace, featured an antique diamond broach from the bride’s great-grandmother. Blue and apple green hydrangeas, along with shades of antique creams and peach Ecuadorian roses, accented the bouquet, which was surrounded by porcelain and sweet Ann sweetheart roses.
Attending her sister as matron of honor was Tiffany Boullion Gullett.
Bridesmaids were Jeanne Claire Gossen, sister of the groom; Heather Lee, cousin of the bride; Ellyn Lalande, cousin of the groom; Anna Duplechin, Jeanne Claire Robichaux, Molly Landry and Marloie Love, friends of the bride.
Each bridesmaid wore a dress Bari Jay design of navy blue chiffon featuring a high illusion netting neckline with a fitted bodice, black belt at the waist, and a trumpet silhouette with a small keyhole back.
Bridal attendants each carried a tri-color mixed bouquet of white, blue and apple green hydrangeas and sweet Ann roses, all intertwined with honeysuckle twine.
Serving as flower girl was Anniston Paige Gullett, goddaughter of the bride and daughter of Tiffany & Sam Gullett. She wore a tea-length ensemble designed with capped sleeves, ivory satin bodice, and tulle skirt. Lace and floral appliques decorated with tiny sequins and pearls accentuated a satin sash tied into a large bow in the back. For her headpiece, she wore a delicate wreath of baby breath and miniature flowers intertwined with ivory lace. She carried a miniature replica of the bride’s bouquet featuring blue and green hydrangeas and mini sweet Ann ivory roses.
Attending the groom as best man was his cousin, Blake Foreman. Groomsmen were Nick Gossen and Eric Link, cousins of the groom; Sam Gullett, brother-in-law of the bride; Andrew Wynn, Jack Thomas Hundley, Andrew Gossen and Ryder Love, friends of the groom.
The groom wore a hand-picked boutonniere featuring natural dried rice from Gossen Farms, including the finest stems of porcelana and sweet Ann spray roses intertwined with honeysuckle twine. Groomsmen and ushers wore a blend of the grooms spray roses and rice in its natural state.
Ring bearer was Jacob Curtis Clayton, godson of the groom and son of Molly and Joey Clayton. He carried a sign, “Here Comes the Bride.”
Ushering guests were Ricky Judice, cousin of the bride; Jeffery Burge, Jacob Fontenot, Beau Leger, friends of the groom.
Wedding attendants were Vickie Valencik, aunt of the bride; Laura Lee, cousin of the bride; and Julie Gossen, aunt of the groom.
Immediately following the wedding ceremony, the newlyweds were honored during a reception held at The Crossing at Mervine Kahn.
Centerpieces adorned the reception area of blue, green and white hydrangea, and sweet Ann roses with pearl strands in wooden flower boxes handcrafted by the bride’s father. He branded each with a “G” designed by the bride and groom.
Among the refreshments was the bride’s cake served by her godmother, Karie Mire. The three tier white almond wedding cake was iced in buttercream icing with icing lacework adorning the sides of the top and bottom tiers. An icing initial and sugar pearls were added to the middle tier. Fresh flowers consisting of blue, green and ivory hydrangeas, and miniature Ann roses were used to adorn the cake complimenting the theme throughout the reception.
The groom’s cake was served by his godmother, Chris Folks. The table theme was “God Bless a Farmer” with a custom designed replica of Paige and Bryant’s beloved dog, Mack, accenting the table top decorations. The confection overflowed with a rich, chocolate decadence including two tiers of majestic chocolate bark concealing a creamy fudge filling with chocolate shavings encircling the entire cake.
Besides the traditional wedding dances, a special song was dedicated to the parents and grandparents of the bride and groom as three sets of grandparents celebrated over 50-plus years of marriage.
Following a wedding trip to St. Lucia in the Caribbean, the couple is residing in Branch.
Prior to the wedding, a rehearsal dinner was held Friday, May 27, at Chef Roy’s Frog City Café of Rayne hosted by the groom’s parents.
The bride is a 2009 graduate of Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish in Crowley, and a 2015 graduate of LSU-Euncie where she attained a degree as a registered nurse. She is presently employed by Our Lady of Lourdes Emergency Department.
The groom is a 2009 graduate of Rayne High School and completed studies as a diesel mechanic at Louisiana Technical College, Crowley Campus. He is employed by Gossen Farms.

Clayton and Geretta Domingue of Lyons Point are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Hannah Domingue of Lyons Point, to Stephen Ogea of Ragley.
Grandparents of the bride-elect are Velta Simon and the late Frank Simon of Lyons Point, and Bertha Domingue and the late Gerald Domingue of Crowley.
Hannah graduated from Midland High School in 2007 before attending McNeese State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing in 2012. She is presently employed as a registered nurse with CHRISTUS St. Patrick Hospital in Lake Charles.
The prospective groom is the son of Aldes and Roxanne Ogea of Ragley. His maternal grandparents are Hurbert and Yuanita Vincent and the late Rita Vincent, and his paternal grandparents are the late Artimese and Fernest Ogea Sr., all of Sulphur.
Stephen is a 2008 graduate of South Beauregard High School and is currently employed by the Calcasieu Parish Tax Assessor’s Office.
The couple will be wed on the afternoon of Saturday, July 23, by Fr. Charles McMillin at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Lyons Point.
Following their wedding, the couple will reside in Ragley.

Fr. Mikel Polson of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church and Fr. Randy Morrow of St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church officiated the 7 p.m. nuptials at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Crowley.

Escorted by her father, the bride entered the church to “Trumpet Voluntary.” She was gorgeous in an Alvina Valenta ivory and cashmere Chantilly lace gown with placed Alençon lace and shimmer throughout. The beautiful gown featured a sheer bateau neckline, cap sleeves and an illusion back.
Emily paired her gown with a lace-trimmed cathedral length veil.
She carried a lovely hand-tied bouquet of burgundy peonies, Naomi dahlias, blush dahlias, ranunculus, eucalyptus, white Astilbe, White O’Hara roses and pink stock.
Joselynn Cramer served as maid of honor and Mallory Champagne served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Elizabeth Broussard, Natalie John, Lannah Broussard, Vivian Stutes and Emily Stutes.
Amelia Gray, daughter of Aylie and Taylor Gray, served as junior bridesmaid, and the flower girl was Mary Reese Broussard, daughter of Lannah and Trent Broussard.
The groom selected Jack Thomas Hundley to serve as his best man. Standing as groomsmen were Heath Petry, Robert Caruso, Trevor Stoma, Trent Broussard, Billy Broach and Stewart Humble.
Trent David Broussard II, son of Lannah and Trent Broussard, served as junior groomsmen. Ring bearers were Cooper Broussard, son of Lannah and Trent Broussard, and Braxton Meagher, son of Brittany and David Meagher.
Ushers were Trey Broussard, Taylor Broussard, Kourtlin Benoit and Ryan Champagne.
Music for the ceremony was provided by organist Alberta Lyons and vocalist Jody Bollich.
Following the wedding party’s departure of the church to “Rondeau,” family and friends joined the newlywed couple for a reception complete with dinner and dancing at The Crossing at Mervine Kahn in Rayne.
On the evening prior to the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at The Crossing at Mervine Kahn.
After a wedding trip to Riviera Maya and Cancun, Mexico, the couple will reside in Estherwood.

RAYNE - A seven o’clock evening Nuptial Mass was held Saturday, June 18, 2016, at St. Joseph Catholic Church joining Mayme Elizabeth Cook of Rayne and Mark Stuart Brown Jr. of Crowley in holy matrimony.
The bride is the daughter of Robert and Karon Cook of Rayne. Her grandparents are Rosemary Cook of Rayne, the late Dr. C.T. Curtis, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Cook.
Mayme is a 2011 graduate of Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish in Crowley. She received a degree in nutrition in May of this year from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge.
The groom is the son of Andree and Mark Brown Sr. of Crowley. His grandparents are Louis Mayeaux of Crowley, the late Charlotte Mayeaux, Terry Brown of Eunice and the late Francis Brown.
Mark is a 2006 graduate of Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish in Crowley, attained a degree in 2011 from The University of Louisiana at Lafayette, and is self-employed.
The double-ring ceremony was celebrated by Fr. Samuel Fontana, associate pastor.
Scriptures were read by Cathy Hundley, aunt/godmother of the bride, and Halie Joubert, friend of the bride.
Gifts were offered by Alayna Reaux and Heidi Bellard, friends of the bride.
Musical selections were provided by vocalist Jody Bollich, organist Linda Kidd, violinist Yang Yang Li, and trumpeter Will Green.
On the arm of her father, the bride wore an elegant ivory wedding gown by Enzoani. The A-lined creation featured gorgeous Alencon and corded Chantilly lace which accentuated a romantic neckline. The soft, full-length tulle skirt was a perfect complement to the scalloped hemline and lace-accented cathedral-length veil. She carried a garden-inspired bouquet of David Austin Juliet roses, dahlias, antique hydrangeas, spray roses, and fillers of wax flowers, Dusty Miller and eucalyptus accented with flowing vines and ribbons.
Traditional items selected by the bride for her wedding day was her grandmother’s diamond ring as something old, a diamond band ring from the groom as something new, her sister’s rosary was borrowed, and a garter worn by the groom’s mother on her wedding day was something blue.
Attending the bride as maid of honor was her sister, Rosemary Cook.
Bridesmaids were Anna Duplechin, Charlotte Brown and Claire Brown, sisters of the groom; Leah Hundley, cousin of the bride; Vicky Stoma, Doren Welch, Blair Daigle and Morgan Arceneaux, friends of the bride.
Bridal attendants each wore a floor-length evening gown of navy blue crinkle chiffon wih beaded details at the shoulders. Each carried an airy bouquet of sugar bush proteas, waxflower, apricot stock, lise spray roses, amoresia roses, and antique hydrangeas accented with various foliage.
Serving as flower girl was Emma Duplechain, neice/godchild of the groom. She wore a sleeveless, ivory, tea-length dress designed with an empire waist, while wearing a halo of various roses and foliage with a simple ribbon down the backside. She carried an antique baby doll given to her by the bride and groom.
Attending the groom as best man was his brother, Phillip Brown.
Groomsmen were Peter Brown, brother of the groom; Patrick Duplechain, brother-in-law of the groom; Lance Meche, Drew Daigle, David Hensgens, Sean Michael Ryder, Matthew Schmid and Eric Savoy, friends of the groom.
Male attendants each wore a dark charcoal gray tuxedo with ivory shirt, matching vest and navy blue tie. Each lapel was noted with a boutonniere of small blossoms and fillers similar to the bouquets of the bridesmaids’.
Serving as ring bearer was William Broussard, nephew of the bride. His attire included dark charcoal gray pants, ivory shirt, navy bow tie with suspenders, and dark charcoal jacket.
Ushering guests to their seats were Robbie Broussard, brother-in-law of the bride; Randall Schmid and Bryan Leger, cousins of the groom; Jason Lalande and Michael Charles Hundley, friends of the groom.
For her daughter’s wedding, Karon Curtis Cook wore a draped evening gown in a light grey tone designed with corded embroidery and tulle on the bodice. She was presented a handheld bouquet of roses, apricot stock, wax flower and fillers.
The groom’s mother, Andree Mayeaux Brown selected a classical-styled, two-piece ensemble featuring a cyan blue shantung jacket with a slender shawl collar and three-quarter length sleeves adorned with four large rhinestone buttons. An ankle-length, slim skirt of the same cyan blue shantung finished her look. She was also presented a handheld bouquet of roses, apricot stock, wax flower and fillers.
Immediately following the wedding ceremony, the couple was honored during a reception held at the historic Wearhouse Event Center in Rayne. The navy and ivory color theme continued during the reception as lace table runners of navy were noted atop guest tables, while ivory chair covers were held with navy chair sashes. Latterns gave the area a natural ambiance against the traditional background of the historic building.
Among the refreshments provided was the bride’s cake, a white five-tier confection accented with cascading white flowers. Each layer was created of a different flavoring and filling. Serving the cake was the bride’s godmother, Cathy Hundley.
The groom’s cake was a funfetti cake with traditional chocolate icing topped with a miniature replica of the groom’s crawfish boat. The cake was served by the groom’s godmother, Yvette Hoffpauir.
Following a wedding trip to Hawaii and Bora Bora, the couple will reside in Crowley.
Prior to the wedding, a rehearsal dinner was held Tuesday, June 14, at Mo’s Crawfish hosted by the groom’s parents. Guests were served boiled crawfish with all the trimmings, along with assorted desserts and beverages.

Malori is a 2011 graduate of St. Thomas More High School and a 2015 graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in kinesiology in 2015. She is presently a student at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
The prospective groom is the son of Melinda Bourque of Maurice and the late Christopher Avel I of Estherwood. His maternal grandparents are the late Florine and Wilton Lege of Abbeville, and his paternal grandparents are Janis and Ronald Coignard of Estherwood.
Christopher graduated from North Vermilion High School in 2010 before attending the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in kinesiology in 2014. He is presently employed with Precision Rehabilitation.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jarrod J. Gardiner of Mire. Her grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Cecil J. Cart of Crowley and Ms. Norma Gardiner of Rayne.
Malise is a 2011 graduate of Teurlings Catholic High School in Lafayette, a 2015 graduate of McNeese State University in Lake Charles with a degree in public relations, and is self employed as a photographer.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Gary of Iowa. His grandparents are Ms. Jackie Abraham of Sulphur, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gary of Lake Charles.
Andrew is a 2011 graduate of St. Louis High School in Lake Charles, 2015 graduate of McNeese State University in Lake Charles with a degree in civil engineering, and is employed by M&C Oilfield Services.
The candlelight ceremony was celebrated by Fr. Billy Massie. Scriptures were recited by Amber Robertson, sister of the groom, and Leah Thibodeaux, cousin of the bride. Gifts were offered by Braxton Hammes and Arielle Buteau, cousins of the bride.
Ushering guests to their seats prior to the start of the ceremony were Pete Petitjean and Forrest Garner, friends of the couple.
Musical selections were provided by vocalists Malarie and Caroline Zaunbrecher, cousins of the bride; and instrumentals/vocalist Karl Venable, friend of the bride; and instrumentals by Dr. Gary Granger along with members of the Acadiana Symphony Orchestra.
On the arm of her father, the bride entered the church in an original Essence of Australia designer wedding gown. The strapless creation of ivory pearl Mikado silk featured a sweetheart neckline and a free-flowing skirt with minimal pleating that flowed into a traditional train accentuated with self-covered silk buttons. The natural waist was highlighted with a Gigi grosgrain blossom sash, all while wearing a handmade cathedral-length veil featuring delicate French alencon lace edging. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of soft coral and pink garden roses, Akito roses, touches of silver dollar eucalyptus and honey bracelet sprays.
Traditional items selected by the bride for her wedding day was a sixpense in her shoe and a dime printed during the year of her birth sewn into her hemline as something old. Pearl earrings presented to by her parents and brother was something new. She borrowed her mother’s pearl bracelet and wore a blue stone antique ring to complete her ensemble.
Attending the bride as maids of honor were Jacqueline Elliot and Selina Hebert, friends.
Bridesmaids were Kallan Mudd, Jeane Angelle, Marlie Henry, Courtney Lea and Chandler Falcon, friends.
Bridal attendants each wore a full-length dress of pearl pink dupioni silk featuring side-seam pockets, inset belt at the natural waist, and pleated skirt while holding a garden clutch of white stock blooms wrapped in maiden hair fern, along with touches of honey bracelet, all tied with white satin ribbon.
Serving as flower girls were Cheyene Robertson, niece/godchild of the groom, and Camille Klein, godchild of the groom. Each wore a dress of ivory chiffon designed with a beaded yoke while carrying a flower basket filled with a variety of delicate flowers and greenery.
Attending the groom as his best men were Ty Griffin and Collin Todd, friends of the groom.
Groomsmen were Jarrod Jude Gardiner, brother of the bride; Kule Kinney, cousin of the groom; Jade Miller, Quinton Tremmel and Christopher Stout, friends of the groom.
Serving as ring bearer was Landen Zaunbrecher, godchild of the bride.

For her daughter’s wedding, Kecia Cart Gardiner wore a vintage-styled evening dress of dusty rose tulle featuring a high neckline, fitted bodice, and tiered beadwork complimented with an elegant sparkle. She was presented a leaf-wrapped wristlet designed with clusters of white stock blooms.
The groom’s mother, Donna Kinney Gary selected an evening dress of lavendar chiffon designed with three-quarter-length sleeves and accented with pearls and sequins on the bodice. She was also presented a leaf-wrapped wristlet designed with clusters of white stock blooms.
Immediately following the wedding ceremony, the newlyweds were honored during a reception held at The Crossing at Mervine Kahn in Rayne. The reception area was elegantly designed and decorated by the bride and her family. For the botanical-theme reception focal pieces of handwoven, open-sided spheres hung above the dance floor each of cascading white flowers and greenery. Each candlelit table was adorned with a circle of loose greenery and centered with a white floral centerpiece. The bride’s mother hand-painted miniature floral canvas pictures which were placed throughout the reception area. In keeping with the botanical theme, guests were treated to a wedding favor of a flowering Kalanchoe, miniature succulents especially grown for the couple’s wedding day.
Among the refreshments was the bride’s cake, a three-tiered white buttercream confection loosely draped with Italian Ruscus. The unique cake topper were Polaroids of the bride and groom in keeping with the bride’s profession. Serving the cake was Kerensa Zaunbrecher, the bride’s godmother.
The groom’s cake was a two-layered red velvet confection topped with cream cheese icing drizzled with chocolate and topped with chocolate-covered strawberries. The cake was served by Tressie Kinney, godmother of the groom.
Following a wedding trip to The Dominican Republic, the couple will reside in Lake Charles.

LAFAYETTE - Holy Cross Church was the setting on Saturday, July 2, 2016, for a wedding ceremony uniting in marriage Shelbie Victoria Manuel of Lafayette and Jude Patrick Duhon of Rayne presently stationed in Pensacola Navy Air Base in Florida.
The bride is the daughter of Darrel and Vicky Manuel of Lafayette, and granddaughter of Jackie Chapman, also of Lafayette. She is a 2011 graduate of Lafayette High School and a 2016 graduate of The University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
The groom is the son of Dr. Neal and Mrs. Susan Duhon of Rayne. His grandparents are Doris Duhon of Abbeville, the late Edwin Duhon, Lawrence LeBlanc Sr. of Rayne, and the late Jane LeBlanc. He is a 2007 graduate of Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish in Crowley, a 2012 graduate of The University of Louisiana at Lafayette, and is presently serving his country as a member of United States Navy.
Celebrating the ceremony was Deacon Ken David. Scriptures were recited by Andrew Manuel and Matthew Manuel, brothers of the bride.
For the ceremony, musical selections were provided by Elizabeth Nix (vocals and piano) and Andrew Manuel, brother of the bride (“Ava Maria” on saxophone).
Escorted by her father, the bride wore full-length sheath wedding gown designed with a sweetheart neckline and sheer capped sleeves. The fitted bodice was encrusted with beading, rhinestones and pearls, while the hemline flowed into a chapel-length train. A rhinestone hairclip held a fingertip veil of sheer illusion. She carried a gathered bouquet of traditional sunflowers accented with baby’s breath.
Attending as maid of honor was her best friend, Caitlin Thompson. Bridesmaids were Carolina Manuel, bride’s sister-in-law, and Natalie Daigle, friend of the couple.
Bridal attendants each wore a navy, knee-length dress designed to their individual liking while carrying a simple sunflower clutch bouquet.
Attending the groom as best man was his older brother, Matthew Duhon. Groomsmen were Elliot Gilbert and Seth Daigle, friends of the groom.

Serving as ring bearers were Michael and Phillip Duhon, nephews of the groom, and Michael Manuel, nephew of the bride. The trio, all born on the same day, wore navy shorts, a white linen shirt, gray suspenders and yellow bowtie for the wedding.
For her daughter’s wedding, Vicky Cross Manuel wore a knee-length dress of choice in a mint green tone.
The groom’s mother, Susan LeBlanc Duhon selected a knee-length dress of choice in an ivory tone with gold lace trim.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Joseph Villien of Maurice. Mrs. Villien is the former Vanessa Dalfrey of Lafayette. Hilary is a 2007 graduate of North Vermilion High School and a 2012 graduate of The University of Louisiana at Lafayette with a bachelor of education degree in elementary education. She currently teaches at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic School in Scott.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Wallace Wynn Jr. of Rayne. Mrs. Wynn is the former Mayme Bonin of Rayne, Louisiana. Joey is a 2006 graduate of Rayne High School and a 2011 graduate of The University of Louisiana at Lafayette where he received a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He is currently employed at Rayne State Bank.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore and elegant fit and flare gown designed by Casablanca. The timeless gown was a creation of beautiful beaded lace appliques on Chantilly lace over champagne soft tulle. The dress featured a classic sweetheart neckline and cap sleeves. Delicate eyelash fringes adorned the entire front and deep back neckline, and the gown was finished with a charming semi-cathedral train. The bride chose to complete her look with a stunning two tier, fold over cathedral veil with Chantilly lace trim. For her bouquet, she chose a combination of vendela, amnesia, and remembrance roses, accented with silver dollar eucalyptus to create a bohemian-style bouquet wrapped with lace from her mother’s bridal gown.
To remember members of the bride’s family both present on the day and those past on, items selected by the bride for her wedding day were a garter made from her mother’s wedding dress, a rosary given to her by her maternal grandmother intertwined in her bouquet, an embroidered handkerchief from her paternal grandmother held by the bride, and fabric wrapped around the bridesmaids’ bouquets from a piece of her sister’s pearl dress in a previous wedding.
The bride was attended by her matrons of honor, Naomie Guilbeau Fitzgerald and Kristen Toups Vondenstein, who were both sorority sisters of the bride in college.
As an honorary maid of honor, the bride had her sister Angela Christine Villien remembered for the ceremony.
Junior attendant to the bride was Annie Claire Hoyt, cousin of the bride.
Attendants wore gowns of different shades of mocha chiffon.
Lainey Catherine Wynn, niece of the groom, served as flower girl wearing a white chiffon formal gown with a large satin bow at the waist.
The groom was attended by his brothers who served as best men, William Wallace Wynn III and Andrew John Wynn.
William Scott Wynn, nephew of the groom, served as ring bearer.
Serving as ushers were George Ellis Blount and Jack Anthony Bonin, uncles of the groom.
Male attendants each wore a traditional classic black tuxedo with a pear rose boutonniere.
For the Nuptial Mass, the bride and groom choose to deliver the readings to their guests as lectors for their celebration of marriage.
Serving as gift bearers were Alida Villien Kirtley, godmother of the bride, and Sharen Wynn, godmother of the groom.
Program attendants were Kennedy Claire Trahan, Alex Renee Hoyt and Avery Kate Hoyt, cousins of the bride.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the Vermilion Room at River Oaks in Lafayette. The reception was elegantly decorated with cut glass crystal table decorations adorned with mercury glass votive candles on mirrored boxes for a romantic vintage look.
Following their honeymoon in Cancun, Mexico, the couple will reside in Rayne.

The bride is the daughter of Linda Reiners Swinkey and Joseph Swinkey, Jr. of Rayne. Her grandparents are Mrs. Harriette “Honey” Reiners of Mowata, the late Joseph Reiners, Mrs. Helen Swinkey of Monroe, Michigan, and the late Joseph Swinkey, Sr. She is a 2008 graduate of Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish and is employed by Splash Creative Products in Opelousas.
The groom is the son of Pamela LeJeune Wimberly and Robert Dale Wimberly, Sr. of Church Point. His grandparents are Chester Wimberly, Sr. of Swords, the late Betty Wimberly, and Norma and John LeJeune of Lawtell. He is a 2007 graduate of Church Point High School and is self-employed.

Scripture passages chosen by the couple for their special day were read by Janet Reiners Hebert, godmother of the bride, and Belinda Wimberly, godmother of the groom. Eucharistic minister was Mary Swinkey, aunt of the bride.
The sanctuary of the church was decorated with greenary with the center aisle adorned with bridal tulle garland accented with fuschia chiffon bows and chiffon and burlap streamers.
Greeting guests and distributing programs were Margaret Louise Winfrey and Victoria Elizabeth Winfrey, cousins of the bride.
Mrs. Alberta Lyons, cousin of the bride, served as organist, and trumpeteer was Jude Gaspard. Vocalists were Renee and Steve Reiners, aunt and uncle of the bride.
Presenting gifts at the offertory were Karen Reiners Winfrey, aunt of the bride, and Kasey Castille, special friend of the groom.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a formal modified a-line gown made from slim-fitting, sculpted satin accented with delicate lace straps and a beaded belt at the natural waist. A striking open back fastened with self-covered buttons was finished with a cathedral train. She wore a fingertip, beaded edge veil to complete her attire, while carrying a clutch bouquet of garden roses, hydrangea and blush spray roses finished with baby’s breath and satin ribbons.
To complete the bridal verse, the bride wore her great aunt, Elizabeth Reiners’ ring as something old; her wedding gown and veil were something new; something borrowed was the garter worn by her maternal grandmother, Harriette Reiners on her wedding day. As something blue she carried the blue rosary her maternal grandfather, Joseph Reiners, gave to her maternal grandmother, Harriette Reiners; and a sixpence placed in her shoe by her father.
Attending the bride as maid of honor was her sister, Katherine Marie Swinkey. Bridesmaids were Hailie LeJeune and Jessica Wimberly, sisters of the groom; Katie Whiting, friend of the bride; Callie Reiners, cousin of the bride; and Hailey Latiolais, friend of the couple.
Bridal attendants were attired in floor length gowns of turquoise chiffon featuring single cap sleeves and a slanted/asymmetrical empire waistline. Each carried a bouquet of garden and spray roses wrapped with burlap and satin streamers.
Junior bridesmaids were Emily Claire Matt, godchild of the bride, and Annie Matte, godchild of the groom.
Junior bridesmaids were attired in gown of fuschia chiffon designed with a delicate scooped neckline featuring a mushroom pleated criss-cross bodice. Each carried a bouquet of garden and spray roses wrapped with burlap and satin streamers.
Flower girls were Audrey LeJeune, niece of the groom, and Abbie Latiolais, godchild of the groom.
Flower girls were attired in white taffeta gowns featuring a gathered skirt, round neckline, capped sleeves, and a large sash and bow at the waistline. Each carried a pomander ball of baby’s breath trimmed with satin ribbon.
The groom chose a close friend, Blake Olivier, as his best man. Groomsmen were Josh LeJeune, brother-in-law of the groom; Brad Reiners, cousin of the bride; Kaleb Deshotel, cousin of the groom; Joey Richard and Chris Latiolais, friends of the groom.
Ring bearers were Wylie Olivier, godchild of the groom, and Qwentin Latiolais, friend of the bride and groom.
Ushers for the evening were Christopher Hebert, cousin of the bride, and Timmy Savoy, friend of the groom.
Male attendants and fathers of the bride and groom were attired in tan tuxedos for the wedding. Their boutonnieres were spray roses designed in shell casings.
For her daughter’s wedding, Mrs. Swinkey chose a two piece champagne gown featuring a beaded lace jacket and a princess cut floor-length skirt. She was presented with a corsage of pink sweetheart roses.
Mrs. Wimberly, the mother of the groom wore a floor length gown of teal chiffon featuring draped sleeves and a jeweled neckline. She was also presented a corsage of pink sweetheart roses.
Special guests for the evening were Mrs. Harriette “Honey” Reiners, grandmother of the bride; Mr. and Mrs. Chester Wimberly, Sr., and Mr. and Mrs. John LeJeune, grandparents of the groom.
Immediately following the wedding ceremony, a reception was held at the Rayne Civic Center.
Among the refreshments was the bride’s cake, a three tiered white confection decorated with blush and pink rose sprays.
The groom’s cake was a traditional chocolate confection featuring a miniature scene showcasing the groom’s farm.
Following a honeymoon to Orlando, Flordia, the couple will make their home in Swords.
The rehearsal dinner was held on Thursday, July 7, 2016, at the Daigle camp in Church Point. Hosts were Gertrude Broach, Florine Daigle, Linda Champion, Gabby Champion and Diana Richard, family and friends of the groom.

Couple to reside in Baton Rouge following wedding trip to St. Lucia

Brittney Lane Jones of Baton Rouge and Derek Mitchell LaFosse of Gonzales were united in holy matrimony on the evening of Saturday, Aug. 6, surrounded by the beautiful stained glass windows of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Scott.
Rev. Fr. Mark Derise celebrated the 6:30 p.m. Nuptial Mass.
The bride is the daughter of Steve and Margaret Jones of Rayne. She is the granddaughter of the late Edgar and Ethel Alleman Stelly of Jennings and the late Thomas and Verdie Morgan Jones of Crowley.
Brittney is a 2005 graduate of Iota High School, a 2009 graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in exercise science, and a 2011 graduate of the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences, where she earned a Master of Science degree in occupational therapy. She is presently employed at The Therapy Center of Jeff Davis Parish as an occupational therapist in skilled nursing facilities.
The groom is the son of Vanessa Boudreaux of Gonzales and the late Daniel Brian Boudreaux. His grandparents are Wallace and Rita LaFargue of Reeves and Tommy and Diana Boudreaux of Baton Rouge.
Derek is a 2006 graduate of East Ascension High School and is presently a student at Baton Rouge Community College, where he is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering. He is currently working for Louisiana State University athletic facilities.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an elegant strapless Alfred Angelo signature princess cut, A-line frame wedding gown. The gown, made of luxurious white satin, featured a fitted bodice with lace-up back, a dramatic white inset at the sweetheart neckline and a semi-cathedral length train adorned with crystal beading, sequins, pearls and a beaded lace applique.
The bride’s dress was complemented with a two-tier mid-length imported veil adorned with gorgeous beaded pearls along its classic edge and embellished with an elegant pearl cluster bridal comb to complete the bride’s wedding at tire.
Brittney carried a round bridal bouquet of floribunda/hybrid tea golden wedding roses surrounded by purple lisianthus blooms and embellished with pearls, chiffon tulle netting, purple satin surrounding the stems and her grandmother’s rosary handcrafted with shimmering silver filigree beads encasing dried pink roses that family members had given to the bride’s grandmother. Dangling from the bouquet and serving as centerpieces were the rosary’s artfully designed crucifix, a photo charm with her grandmother’s picture and a pearl and Swarovski aqua blue crystal heart set in sterling silver tied neatly with white organdy ribbon given to her by her mother.
In keeping with tradition, the bride carried her grandmother’s rosary as “something old,” while her bridal gown served as “something new.” A pearl from her mother was “something borrowed,” and a heart patch with blue monogrammed initials of the bride and groom served as “something blue.”
Jerrilynn Primeaux, sister of the bride, served as matron of honor, and Caitlyn Primeaux, godchild and niece of the bride served as maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Sadie French and Katie Harris, cousins of the bride; Ashley Knight, Megan Hill, Casey Scarborough, Ashley Bertrand and Ashley Seneca, friends of the bride; and Lori Ward, sister of the groom.
The bridal attendants were attired in floor length versa convertible mesh gowns in plum color. The neckline of each gown featured a fabric tie that the attendants were able to arrange for a personalized, unique look.
The attendants carried bouquets of floribunda/hybrid tea golden wedding roses and purple pansies adorned with pearls throughout the bouquets and trimmed with purple satin surrounding the stems.
Cory Hutchinson, friend of the groom, served as best man. Standing as groomsmen were Taylor Boudreaux, brother of the groom; Ethan Ward, brother-in-law of the groom; Chase Ruiz, Daniel Tullier, Jeremy Lanclos and Zachary Melancon, friends of the groom; and Aaron Mire, cousin of the bride.
Serenity Ward, godchild and niece of the groom, and Gabriella Butts, godchild and cousin of the groom, served as flower girls.
Ring bearers were Collin Primeaux, godchild and nephew of the bride, and Liam Ward, godchild and nephew of the groom.
Serving as escorts for the flower girls and ring bearers were Katie Ruiz and Shea Papania, friends of the bride and groom.
Music for the ceremony was provided by organist Connie Beaux; Ellan Kay Baggett, friend of the bride and her family; and trumpeters Aaron Mire, cousin of the bride, and Joe Stemplewski, friend of the bride and her family.
Selected scriptures were read by Monica Mire, godmother of the bride, and Roxanne Butts, great-aunt of the groom.
Offertory gifts were presented by Dempsey, Francine and Abigail Butts, cousins of the groom.
Craig Mire, cousin-in-law of the bride, served as Eucharistic minister, and altar servers were Wesley Mire and Ethan Mire, cousins of the bride.
Program attendants were Tiara Doucet, cousin of the bride, and Mark Caswell, friend of the bride and groom and the bride’s family.
Following the wedding, family and friends joined the newlywed couple for a reception at The Crossing at Mervine Kahn in Rayne.
The bride’s cake was a white four-tiered quilted pattern creation with alternating fleur de lis accents. Each layer was patterned with purple and gold tiger stripes and infused with a different filling of strawberry, chocolate and praline. The cake was embellished with a purple fleur de lis personalized cake topper accented with the initials of the bride and groom. It was served by Darlene Cryer, cousin of the groom.
The groom’s cake was a margarita-flavored confection designed as a miniature replica of the traditional LSU ice chest. The groom’s cake was served by Kolinda Butts, cousin of the groom.
Out-of-town guests traveled from Arkansas, California, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia and various points throughout Louisiana.
On the evening prior to the wedding, the mother of the groom hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Holiday Inn Express in Scott. Guests enjoyed a menu of jambalaya, seafood pasta, meatballs, boudin links, green salad, brownies and a variety of cookies.
Following a wedding trip to St. Lucia, the couple will reside in Baton Rouge.
