Evening ceremony unites Shamara Young, Ronalldo Coleman in marriage

CADE - The picturesque Manor was the setting on Saturday, July 23, 2016, for a 7 p.m. wedding ceremony uniting Shamara Anjané Young and Ronalldo Djuan Coleman in marriage.
The bride is the daughter of Martin and Chandrekia Bias of Rayne. Her grandparents are Eddie Young, the late Ella Faye Young, the late Mable Morrison and the late Arthur White, all of Rayne. Shamara is a 2007 graduate of Rayne High School, 2012 graduate of Northwestern State University, and is currently employed by RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company as a territory manager.
The groom is the son of Romy Coleman of Rayne and Tromy Batiste of Dublin, Ohio. His grandparents are Ronald Coleman of Crowley, the late Maryetta Coleman, the late Virginia Batiste and the late Frank Yokum Sr. of Rayne. Ronalldo is a 2005 graduate of Rayne High School, attended Louisiana State University at Eunice, and is employed by EcoServ.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a strapless organza wedding dress designed with a sweetheart neckline and embossed fitted bodice of tuffed layering. The natural waist was accentuated with a beaded waistband while a trumpet-styled skirt was accented with vividly ruffles and a chapel-length train. A stylish hair comb held a fingertip veil of sheer illusion to complete her attire.
The bride was attended by her best friends, Destiny Senegal and Shalyn Livings, as maids of honor.
Junior bridesmaids were Taylor Bias, sister of the bride, and Laurian Guidry, sister of the groom.
Bridal attendants each wore a floor-length Vera Wang gown of flowing black satin featuring a one-shoulder illusion neckline and ruching throughout the bodice.
Attending the groom as his best man was his cousin, Justin Jolivette.
Ushering guests were Alondrea Young, cousin of the bride, and Adajio Kanonu, brother of the groom.
Male attendants wore formal black tuxedoes with black shirt and tie. Each lapel was noted with a red rose boutonniere.
For her daughter’s wedding, the bride’s mother wore a steel gray, floor-length gown designed with an off-the-shoulder neckline composed of slim shoulder straps. A gathered detail formed the top as a luxurious brooch adorned the slim band encircling a peplum waist which flowed into a fitted slim skirt and sweeping train. She was presented a red rose corsage.
The groom’s mother selected a formal pants suit in a deep red tone, in addition to a formal black hat and lace gloves. She was presented a red rose corsage.
Immediately following the wedding ceremony, a reception was held on site in honor of the newlyweds. A vintage theme with a black and white decor was noted for the reception area.
Prior to the wedding, a rehearsal dinner was held Friday, July 22, 2016.
Following their wedding trip, the couple is now residing in Duson.


Dena Campbell weds Scott Hebert

During a 6:45 p.m. beach wedding on the shores of Destin, Florida, Dena Rae Campbell of Rayne and Scott David Hebert of Erath were joined as husband and wife.
The bride is the daughter of Ray and Mona Campbell of Rayne. She is the granddaughter of the late Dovey and Willie Bourque of Rayne. Dena is a 1997 graduate of Rayne High School and employed by Sam’s Wholesale in Lafayette.
The groom is the son of Virgil and Katie Hebert of Erath. His grandparents are Wade and Jane Landry, Barbara Hebert and the late Virgil Hebert. Scott is a 1998 graduate of Erath High School and is employed by I & E Technologies.
For her wedding day, the bride wore a sleevesless, all-lace wedding dress designed with a high neck, halter styling featuring lace cutouts throughout.
Attending the bride as maid of honor was the groom’s daughter, Alyssa Hebert.
Serving the groom as best man was his son, Caleb Hebert.
Following the wedding ceremony, the newlyweds were honored during a reception held at Joe’s Crab Shack in Destin, Florida.

Kelsey Primeaux becomes Mrs. Dylan Lormand

RAYNE - A six-thirty evening Nuptial Mass on Friday, June 24, 2016, at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church united in marriage Kelsey Paige Primeaux of Rayne and Dylan Joseph Lormand of Mire.
The bride is the daughter of Alcide and Paulette Primeaux of Rayne. Her grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Earl Meche of Maurice, and Mr. and Mrs. James Norris Leger of Rayne. Kelsey is a 2011 graduate of Rayne High School, a 2016 graduate in dental hygiene from The University of Louisiana at Lafafayette (3 years) and The University of Louisiana at Monroe (2 years).
The groom is the son of Merlin and Terry Lormand of Mire. His grandparents are Allendale Lormand of Mire, the late Merlis Lormand, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Al Peltier of Rayne. Dylan is a 2010 graduate of Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish, 2014 graduate of The University of Louisiana at Lafayette, and is employed by Luminate at Oak Grove Power Plant in Franklin, Texas.
Celebrating the Nuptial Mass and wedding ceremony was Monsignor Russell Harrington. Scriptures were recited by Jonathan Hebert and Roma Prejean, and Gift were offered by Paula Hollier and Davin Peltier. Wedding attendants were Beverly Guidry and Marlene Langlinais.
As musical selections were provided by Mark Dunbar and Anna Rees, the bride entered the church on the arm of her father. She wore a “Bergman” wedding gown from the “Badgley Mischka” collection. The design featured a V-neckline of Venise lace adorned with pearl and crystal beading on the upper bodice and V-back. The upper bodice was a luminous satin natural waistline, mermaid silhouette which flowed into tiers of tulle. At the skirt line and V-back were embroidered lace of crystal and pearls. To finish the ensemble she wore matching shoes with encrusted pearls and crystals on the heals, along with a finger-tip veil falling from a crystal and pearl halo placed gently around a soft updo.
As a bouquet, the bride chose a sophisticated hand bouquet of white peonies, anemones, rananculas, O’hara garden roses and quicksand standard roses intertwined with Queen Anne lace, blue thistle, all gathered and tied with ivory bridal satin. For a special added touch, a pearl and gold bracelet and button were placed in the creation, along with a Blessed Mother cameo. Draped across the top of the bouquet was a pearl rosary that fell across the bride’s hands.
Traditional items selected by the bride for her wedding day was a Scritpture necklace as something old. Her wedding gown was something new and her flowers was something blue.
Attending the bride as her maid of honor was her cousin, Taylor Hollier.
Bridesmaids were Mackenzie Hebert, sister of the groom; Ashley Primeaux, sister-in-law of the bride; and Shanna Morgan, Ashlee Guilbeau, Amy Kothe, Kayla Derise and Kate LeBlanc, friends of the bride.
Bridal attendants wore a floor-length gown of blush chiffon featuring a flowing A-lined skirt and crossed halter neckline by the Morihee Spring Collection. Each carried a different variation of the bride’s bouquet on a smaller scale and encircled with Dusty Miller.
Serving as flower girl was Ann-Marie Primeaux, godchild of the bride. She wore a long, ivory dress with a soft flowing tulle skirt covered in pleated swirls. An embellished pearl and silver beading applique was noted at each shoulder. She carried a pomander floral ball of satin flowers and lace ribbon.
The groom and his attendants were handsome in Allure men’s slate blue “Bartlet” tuxedoes with ivory shirts and navy suspenders. Finishing his ensemble was an ivory bow tie while his attendants wore navy blue. The groom’s boutonniere was a peoney bud, ranaculus, Queen Ann lace and Dusty Miller. Groomsmen and ushers wore boutonnieres of Ilse and porcelana sweetheart roses with Queen Ann lace and Dusty Miller.
Attending the groom as best man was a friend, Craig Bodiford. Groomsmen were Tyler Primeaux, brother of the bride; Ryan Hebert, brother-in-law of the groom; and Matt Greene, Michael Dysart, Zack Abshire, Hunter Stover and Tyler Melancon, friends of the groom.
Serving as ring bearers were Ty Primeaux, bride’s nephew, and Archer Hebert, groom’s godchild. Each wore a gray tuxedo wih ivory shirt, navy bow tie and suspenders. His boutonniere was a petite Ilse rose and Dusty Miller mixture.
Ushering guests were Derrick Guillory and Ross Couvillion, friends of the groom.
For her daughter’s wedding, the mother of the bride, Paulette Broussard Primeaux wore a floor-length “LaFemme” creation of an elegant navy satin mermaid dress with a beaded lace bodice and three-quarter-length sleeves. She chose a delicate wristlet of Ilse and porcelana roses with Queen Ann lace, Dusty Miller, and touches of navy blue on a beautiful bracelet that matched the bracelet on the bride’s handle of her bouquet.
The groom’s mother, Terry Peltier Lormand selected a shimmering “Montage” gown of aqua gray by Mon Cheri. The A-lined, two-tone chiffon creation featured a lace bodice with a deep V-neckline and capped sleeves. An A-lined skirt of chiffon was finished with a sweep train. Her floral choice was a wristlet of Ilse and porcelana roses, Queen Ann lace, Dusty Miller, and accents of metallic grey on a matching crystal bracelet.
Immedately following the wedding ceremony, the newlyweds were honored during a reception held at The Crossing at Mervine Kahn. A vintage theme was carried throughout the reception area with a color decor of gold, blush and ivory accent colors.
Among the refreshments was the bride cake, a four-tier confection of ivory buttercream with a second tier of blush pink for a vintage feel. All tiers were adorned with rich metallic gold lace at the bottom of each cake. The creation was completed with a mirrored gold “L” topper and a sparse bouquet of ivory peonies.
The groom’s cake was a two-tier confection to replicate tree bark. The delicious decadent chocolate cake was a sure eye pleaser to the avid outdoorsman. The cake was served by the groom’s godmother, Roma Prejean.
Following a wedding trip to Nassau, Bahamas, the couple is now residing in Franklin, Texas.
Prior to the wedding, a rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom’s parents at Fezzo’s in Scott. With a gumbo appetizer, guests were given a choice of grilled or fried shrimp, grilled tilapia, grilled chicken breast, catfish or shrimp dinner, New York strip or seafood pasta served with stuffed potato, salad and roll.

Domingue, Ogea wed at St. John the Baptist

An early afternoon wedding united Hannah Domingue of Lyons Point and Stephen Ogea of Ragley on Saturday, July 23.
Fr. Charles McMillin officiated the 1 p.m. nuptial ceremony, along with Fr. Clint Trahan, Fr. Richard Broussard, Fr. Tim Goodly and Deacon Tom Summers, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Lyons Point.
The bride is the daughter of Geretta and Clayton Domingue of Lyons Point. She is the granddaughter of Velta Simon of Lyons Point and the late Frank Simon and Bertha Domingue of Crowley and the late Gerald Domingue.
Hannah graduated from Midland High School in 2007 before attending McNeese State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing in 2012. She is presently employed as a registered nurse with CHRISTUS St. Patrick Hospital in Lake Charles.
The groom is the son of Roxanne and Aldes Ogea of Ragley. His maternal grandparents are Juanita and Hubert Vincent of Sulphur and the late Rita Vincent, and his paternal grandparents are the late Artimese and Fernest Ogea of Sulphur.
Stephen is a 2008 graduate of South Beauregard High School and is currently employed by the Calcasieu Parish Tax Assessor’s Office.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride was beautiful in an ivory satin gown featuring beaded lace cap sleeves and an empire waist, with a gathered skirt that flowed into a long train.
She paired her gown with a bead-trimmed waist length veil secured by a pearl and rhinestone tiara.
She carried a cascading bouquet of pink-centered orchids and multi-colored leaves with the stems wrapped in her late grandfather’s handkerchief.
The bride was attended by her sisters Heidi Monceaux as matron of honor and Heather Moore, Hillary Menard and Holly Domingue as bridesmaids. They were clad in lovely floor length chiffon gowns in mint green.
Junior bridesmaids were Emily Moore and Chelsey Simon, goddaughters of the bride, who wore floor length mint-colored dresses featuring ivory sashes.
The bridal attendants carried bundles of pink, ivory and small mint green orchids tied with sheer gold ribbons.
Emma Menard, goddaughter of the bride, served as flower girl. She wore a floor length mint lace dress with an ivory sash complemented by a halo-style flower headband and carried a pomander ball of pink and ivory orchids suspended from a sheer gold ribbon.
The groom’s father served as best man, with Jonathon Moore, Matt Monceaux and Adam Menard, brothers-in-law of the bride, and Chris Dooley, friend of the groom, standing as groomsmen.
The groom wore a charcoal grey tuxedo paired with an ivory vest and tie, while the groomsmen wore light grey tuxedoes with light grey vests and mint ties.
Jeremy Monceaux, godchild of the bride, served as ring bearer and wore a light grey tuxedo with a light grey vest and mint tie.
Serving as ushers were Timothy LeBlanc and Kemmeth Simon, godfathers of the bride.
Music for the ceremony was provided by saxophonist Trey Hayes and vocalists Kim Guidry (lead), Rhonda Bussy, Mike Bussy, Rechelle Broussard, Kevin Simon, Frankie Simon, Larry Hebert, Susan Mayes and Gayla LeBlanc.
Following the wedding, family and friends joined the newlywed couple for a reception at the International Rice Festival Building in Crowley.
The tables were topped with gold swirl-design runners and tall clear vases filled with mint-colored orchids.
Guests enjoyed a variety of finger foods served buffet-style, as well as an afternoon of dancing.
The bride’s five-tiered round cake was decorated with rose gold icing and a paisley design that cascaded, along with ivory orchids, down its side. The confection was topped with a bundle of ivory orchids.
In lieu of cake, a variety of pies, including potato, pecan, lemon and chocolate, were served on behalf of the groom.
On the Thursday evening prior to the wedding, Joleen and Troy Thibodeaux, friends of the groom’s parents, hosted a rehearsal dinner at the home of the groom’s parents.
Following a seven-day cruise from New Orleans to Jamaica, Grand Cayman Island and Cozumel, the couple is residing in Ragley.

Couple plans fall wedding

Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Zaunbrecher Jr. of Rayne are announcing the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Alyssa Ann Zaunbrecher of Houston, Texas, to Joshua Nathan Lowery of Houston, Texas, son of Daniel Lowery and the late Donna Lowery of Lake Charles.
The couple will be joined in holy matrimony on Saturday, October 1, 2016, at the Catholic Chapel of the Most Holy Trinity West Point in West Point, New York.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Alfred and Marceline Zaunbrecher of Rayne, and the late John and Jane Golden of Crowley.
Alyssa is a 2006 graduate of Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish in Crowley, attained a bachelor of arts degree in 2010 from The University of Louisiana at Lafayette, and a master of business administration in 2013 from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. She is employed by Shell Oil Company in Houston, Texas.
The prospective groom is the grandson of Helen Hedrich of Lake Charles, the late Raymond Reeds, and the late Arthur Lee and Mae Dell Lowery.
Joshua is a 2001 graduate of St. Louis Catholic High School in Lake Charles, attended the United States Military Academy in West Point, New York in 2005 where he received a bachelor of science degree, and in 2012 attained a master of business administration from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. He is employed by Baker Hughes in Houston, Texas.
Following their wedding, the couple will reside in Houston, Texas.

Don J. and Marlene Bergeron Chaisson of Crowley are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Julie Renee Chaisson of Lafayette, to Thomas Ryan Duplechain of Lafayette.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Leo and Goldie Bergeron of Abbeville and the late Easton and Ella Chaisson of Crowley.
Julie is a graduate of Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She is presently employed as a closing secretary with Andrus, Boudreaux, Landry and Coussan in Lafayette.
The prospective groom is the son of Robert and Vickie Duplechain Sr. of Port Barre. He is the grandson of Betty Stelly and the late Floyd Stelly and Helen Duplechain and the late George Duplechain Jr., all of Port Barre.
Thomas is a graduate of Port Barre High School and La. Technical College at Lafayette, and he holds a Commercial Rotorcraft Certificate from Bristow Academy. He is currently employed by The Wood Group Co. as an offshore production hand.
The couple will be wed on Friday, Oct. 7, during a 6:30 p.m. ceremony at St. Genevieve Catholic Church in Lafayette.
Following their wedding, the couple will reside in Lafayette.

Saint Joseph Roman Catholic Church was the setting on Saturday, Aug. 20, 2016, for a wedding ceremony uniting in marriage Katherine Naomie Nero and Phillip James Dupuis. The six o’clock ceremony was officiated by Fr. Samuel Fontana, pastor.
The bride is the daughter of Carroll and Carolyn Nero of Rayne. Her grandparents are Emily Rankin of Palmetto, Florida, the late Larry Rankin, Richard Phifer, Murphy and Naomie Nero of Rayne. She is a 2010 high school graduate, a 2015 graduate of the University of Phoenix, and is employed by Play & Learn Nursery & Preschool in Scott.
The groom is the son of Denise Pellissier and John Dupuis of Rayne. His grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Adam Pellissier of Rayne and the late Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Dupuis of Rayne. He is employed by Sterling Hyundai in Lafayette.
For the ceremony, Scriptures were recited by Kaylin Nero, cousin of the bride.
Against musical selections provided by Amy Whatley, guests were escorted to their seats by ushers Richard Nero Jr., nephew of the bride, and Martin Frisard, friend of the couple.
Escorted by her father, Carroll Nero Sr., the bride was radiant in an ivory Alfred Angelo wedding dress which included dazzling details, classic silhouette and romantic flow. The strapless, floor-length gown of netting and taffeta was highlighted with embroidered lace and metallic accents, crystal beading and sequins throughout. The A-line skirt flowed into a semi-cathedral-length train featuring a matching embroidered hemline. A crystal and rhinestone barrette detailed with Swaroski ivory pearls held her veil, a two-tier, finger-tip veil of ivory tulle classically shaped with gold scalloped crystal beadwork. She carried three dozen calla lilies intertwined with a pearl rosary and wrapped at the stem in cobalt blue lace and ivory bow.
Traditional items selected by the bride for her wedding day included her great-grandmother’s doily as something old, her wedding dress was something new, borrowed her mother’s sterling silver spoon bracelet, and her wedding shoes were something blue.
Attending the bride as maid of honor was Brandie Theriot, cousin of the groom.
Bridesmaids were Starlyn Stoute, cousin of the bride; Haley Nero, niece of the bride; Christie Theriot, cousin of the groom; and Shelby Wyatt, friend of the bride.
Bridal attendants each wore a one-shoulder, floor-length dress of cobalt blue crinkle chiffon designed with front and back keyhole closures and an A-lined skirt. Each carried a dozen calla lilies accented with white stem Astible bush and wrapped in ivory ribbon.
Serving as flowergirl was Faithlynn Nero, niece of the bride. She wore an ivory, floor-length dress of tulle and satin designed with embroidered lace and crystal beading. A cobalt blue satin belt was noted at the natural waistline, while her hair was styled to enhance a pearl tiara. She also wore cobalt blue shoes to match the bride, while carrying a flower basket filled with miniature calla lilies.
Attending the groom as best man was his brother, Jared Pellissier.
Groomsmen were John Bourque and Dwight Campbell, friends of the groom, and T-Carroll Nero Jr. and Richard Nero, brothers of the bride.
Male attendants wore black three-piece suits with cobalt blue vests and ties. Boutonnieres consisted of an ivory mini calla lily with cobalt blue ribbon.
Serving as ring bearers were Channing Dupuis, son of the couple, and David Nero, godchild/nephew of the bride. Each wore a black three-piece suit with cobalt blue vest and tie while sporting a mini calla lily boutonniere.
For her daughter’s wedding, the mother of the bride, Carolyn Phifer Nero wore an antique navy floor-length Xscape gown designed with a beaded illusion neckline and ruched bodice. A scoop neckline and capped sleeves were completed with intricate bead work throughout. Her flowers were two mini calla lilies gathered with ivory and cobalt blue ribbon and accented with pearl beads.
The groom’s mother, Denise Pellissier selected a floor-length navy blue sleeveless dress designed with a lace bodice over beige top. The hourglass silhouette and mermaid-style creation was completed with a cummabund-style sash at the waist, along with a satin bow sash. She was also presented two mini calla lilies gathered with ivory and cobalt blue ribbon and accented with pearl beads.
Immediately following the wedding ceremony, the newlyweds were honored during a reception held at The Union Hall in Rayne. An ivory and cobalt blue color decor was carried throughout the reception hall, along with floral bouquets of calla lilies throughout. Pictures of the couple, along with bridal photos of the bride surrounded the room. Of special remembrance was a special table for the couple’s grandparents.
Among the refreshments provided for the guests was the bride’s cake, a four-tier octagon confection of ivory fondant beautifully adorned with royal scrollwork and diamond cut impressions. The cake was also accented with fresh mini calla lilies and topped with the initials of the bride and groom. Guests were able to select from four cake flavors and eight fillings. The cake was served by Beverly Alleman, godmother of the bride.
The groom’s cake was a traditional two-layer chocolate confection topped with a fudge topping of chocolate drizzle.
Following a wedding trip to Gatlinburg, Tennessee, the couple will make their home in Rayne.
Prior to the wedding, a rehearsal dinner was held Friday, Aug. 19, at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Mire. Serving as hosts for the evening event were Denise Pellissier, mother of the groom; Marie Mouton, aunt of the groom; Ann and Mary Mouton, cousins of the groom; Karen Mire and Tickie Faul, friends of the family. Guests were served a menu of jambalaya, potato augrautin, vegetable and fruit trays, selection of sweets and beverages.

Katherine Swinkey weds Lance Joseph Caruso

On Saturday, the tenth day of September of 2016, at six-thirty in the evening before family and friends, Katherine Marie Swinkey and Lance Joseph Caruso celebrated the sacrament of holy matrimony in a ceremony at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Mowata.
The bride is the daughter of Linda Reiners Swinkey and Joseph Swinkey Jr. of Rayne. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Hariette “Honey” Reiners of Mowata, the late Joseph Reiners, Mrs. Helen Swinkey of Monroe, Michigan and the late Joseph Swinkey Sr.
She is a 2003 graduate of Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish in Crowley, received a degree in behavorial science from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2009, and is presently employed as manager of Moments By Boujo in Metarie.
The groom is the son of Connie and Lester Caruso of Metarie. His grandparents are Pearl and Edmond Artique of Metarie, and the late Gladys and Nicholas Caruso.
He is a 2003 graduate of Brother Martin High School in New Orleans, received a degree in business administration from the University of New Orleans in 2009, and is employed by Automated Control Company in Metarie.
The Reverend Garrett Savoie, friend of the family, officiated during the double-ring ceremony. Scripture passages chosen by the couple for their special day were read by Kathy Artique, godmother of the groom; Kim Durr, aunt of the groom; and Chelle Comeaux, cousin of the bride.
A poem, “I Love You” by Croft, originally read at the bride’s godmother’s wedding, was receited by the bride’s aunt, Karen Winfrey.
Guests were ushered to their seats by Christopher Hebert, cousin of the bride.
The church sanctuary was decorated with greenery throughout. The center aisle was adorned with navy floral ribbon accented with mini green hydrangea.
Against a musical backdrop provided by Judy LeBlanc, the bride entered the church on the arm of her father wearing a formal wedding gown of ivory tulle designed with a V-neckline and ruching across a fitted bodice. The natural waist was enhanced with a slim crystal and rhinestone belt, form which fell an A-lined skirt gathered to the back with self-covered buttons until the end of a cathedral-length train. A simple hair comb held a fingertip veil of sheer illusion edged with a beaded hemline. She carried a clutch bouquet of white roses with blue and white hydrangea wrapped with burlap and satin streamers.
To complete the bridal verse, the bride wore a ring given to her by her paternal grandfather as something old, her wedding gown was something new, something borrowed was her veil worn by her sister at her wedding, and for something blue she carried the blue rosary her maternal grandfather gave to her maternal grandmother, along with a sixpence in her shoe by her father.
Attending the bride as matron of honor was her sister, Gretchen Swinkey Wimberly.
Bridesmaids were Rachel Smith and Christina Guidry, friends of the bride; and Ashley Reiners, cousin of the bride.
Junior bridesmaid was Margaret Louise Winfrey, godchild of the bride.
Bridal attendants each wore a formal-length gown of navy blue luxe chiffon designed with a unique crossed neckline, empire waist and A-lined skirt. Each carried a bouquet of blue and mini green hydrangea wrapped with burlap and satin streamers.
The groom’s best man was a close friend, Daniel Weimer III.
Groomsmen were Brandon Caruso, brother of the groom; Randy Schnadelbach, friend of the groom; and Kevin Durr, cousin of the groom.
Serving as ring bearer was Daniel Weimer IV, godchild of the groom.
The groom and male members of the wedding party each wore a tan tuxedo, noted with a boutonniere of white sweetheart roses accented with blue hydrangea.
For her daughter’s wedding, the mother of the bride chose a two-piece navy gown featuring a beaded lace jacket and a princess cut floor-length skirt. She was presented a corsage of white sweetheart roses.
The mother of the groom selected a light mauve lace and sequin tea-length gown designed with three-quarer-length sleeves. She was also presented a corsage of white sweetheart roses.
Special guests in attendance for the wedding were Mrs. Harriette “Honey” Reiners, grandmother of the bride, and Mr. and Mrs. Edmond Artique, grandparents of the groom.
Immediately following the wedding ceremony, a receptin was held in honor of the couple at The Grand Opera House of the South in Crowley.
Among the refreshments provided for the guests was the bride’s cake, a three-tier white confection topped with a “Mr. and Mrs.” insignia.
The groom’s table featured homemade cracklins, boudin and hog head cheese prepared by the groom and his grandfather.
The bride, groom, their families and guests enjoyed an evening of dancing to music provided by “Two Dollar Pistol” band of New Orleans.
Following their wedding trip to Orange Beach, Alabama, the couple will make their home of Metarie.
Prior to the wedding, a rehearsal dinner was held Thursday, Sept. 8, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church Hall in Mowata. Guests were served chicken, sausage and pork jambalaya, green beans, and a variety of cobblers for dessert. The meal was prepared by David Hebert, uncle of the bride, and Robert Wimberly Jr., brother-in-law of the bride.
